Ducati has commenced accepting bookings on the new Monster in the Indian market. The brand has revealed that the new Monster will be available in two variants – Monster and Monster Plus. Furthermore, the brand also revealed that the new Monster and Monster Plus would make their market debut on 23rd September 2021 in a digital launch event. Interested customers can now book the new Monster by putting down INR 100,000 at the nearest Ducati Dealership in India. The brand will reveal the full price on the Monster and Monster Plus on 23rd September 11 Am in India. Also, deliveries will begin soon after the launch.
The new Ducati Monster boasts of being the lightest, most compact motorcycle in the Italian brand’s stable. The bike comes with a new LED headlamp with dark inserts. The headlamp also features peripheral LED daytime running lights. The motorcycle also comes with dynamic turn indicators and LED taillamps. The Monster features a muscular fuel tank with prominent knee recesses, a broad but sleek tail section and an upswept twin-tipped exhaust. The motorcycle also comes with short front and rear fenders as well as a minimalist flyscreen.
Powering the Ducati Monster and Monster Plus is a Euro5/BS6 compliant 937cc 90-degree V-Twin-Cylinder engine. The liquid-cooled motor comes with a four-valve 11-degree Testastretta Desmodromic valve distribution system. The engine also comes with a ride-by-wire throttle and electronic fuel injection that helps produce 111 Hp of power and 93 Nm of torque. The motor pairs a 6-speed gearbox, featuring a slipper and self-servo multi-plate wet clutch with hydraulic control.
The Ducati Monster comes with a 43mm upside-down front fork suspension. The rear comes with a preload-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The front suspension offers 130mm of travel while the rear gets 140mm of wheel travel. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres. Braking power comes from twin 320mm semi-floating discs. The front brakes not only get radially-mounted Brembo M4.32 4-piston monobloc callipers but also a radial master cylinder pump. The rear comes with a 245mm single disc with a Brembo 2-piston calliper.
The Ducati Monster comes with electronic features such as Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and ABS with a cornering function for safety. The bike also comes with Ducati Quickshift, Ducati Power Launch, Power Modes and Riding Modes. The Monster also comes with a 4.3-inch TFT colour display, ready for Ducati Multimedia integration, heated grips and USB Socket.
