Italian premium superbike manufacturer Ducati is planning to bring the new 2021 Ducati Monster 821 and the test mule of the motorcycle has been spotted testing in the European market a few months ago. Now, images of the 2021 Ducati Monster 821 have been leaked on the internet, in the form of design drawings, revealing the design highlights of the all-new model.
According to the leaked design renderings, the new Monster is likely to feature a new alloy frame instead of the steel trellis design that has been the hallmark of the Monster series. The new alloy frame is expected to be lighter than before and will enable the new Monster to compete with Triumph Street Triple and the Yamaha MT-09, in terms of agility.
The design renderings also reveal that the changes are not limited to the mechanical bits but the new Monster is also likely to come with changes in the cosmetic department. The 2021 Monster appears sharper than before with angular design theme, a chiselled fuel tank and a sharper than before tail section. The alloy wheels also appear to be redesigned and the exhaust unit is a similar twin-barrel side slung unit but appears to be more upswept with sharper slash-cut design and prominent twin pipes.
While no details on the powertrain are available as of now, the current-generation Monster 821 in the Indian market is powered by an 821cc 11-degree Testastretta liquid-cooled L-Twin motor with 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder that produce 109 Hp of power and 86 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
Ducati is expected to unveil the 2021 Monster soon in the international market and the naked roadster is likely to go on sale by the end of this year. The brand is also expected to launch the 2021 Monster in the Indian market later next year. Upon launch, the 2021 Ducati Monster 821 is expected to be priced slightly above the INR 11 lakh mark in the Indian market.
