2021 Ducati Diavel 1260 & 1260 S launched in India

Ducati has launched the new BS6-compliant Ducati Diavel 1260 and the Diavel 1260 S in the Indian market. The Ducati Diaval 1260 in the Total Black at the price of 18.49 lakh ex-showroom, India. On the other hand, the Ducati Diavel 1260 S Ducati Red and Thrilling Black is priced at 21.49 lakh ex-showroom, India. Ducati dealerships in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi – NCR, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata and Chennai. The brand also announced that the deliveries would begin as soon as the Government lifts the lockdown restrictions.

2021 Ducati Diavel Engine Specifications

Powering the Ducati Diavel 1260 and 1260 S is a 1,262cc Ducati Testastretta DVT engine. The new BS6-compliant powertrain features a variable cam timing that makes 3bhp more than the predecessor. The twin-cylinder engine punches out 162 Hp at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a two way quick-shifter. In the BS6 avatar, the Ducati Diavel 1260 is 5kg heavier and tips the scale at 249 kg at the kerb.

Ducati Diavel 1260 & 1260 S Ergonomics and Mechanical Parts

The cruiser motorcycle features a sport naked design and Power Cruiser ergonomics. The styling and ergonomics of the bike have been popular right from Diavel’s inception. But the new-generation model features a prominent tubular steel Trellis frame. The new chassis design enables enhanced cornering agility and feel of the motorcycle. 

The handling is further enhanced by 50mm upside-down front forks. The damping compression and spring preload adjustment are on the left fork and rebound adjustment on the right. The Diavel 1260 comes with a mono-shock with adjustable spring preload and damping rebound. On the Ducati Diavel 1260 S, the brand offers a high specification fully adjustable Ohlins 48 mm fork and fully adjustable rear mono-shock. 

Electronics package

The motorcycle features an extensive electronics package that includes a 6-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The bike also comes with Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Power Launch (DPL), Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, and Cruise Control. The motorcycle also features the new Dragster Mode that sends the maximum amount of torque using Ducati Power Launch and Ducati Traction Control. The Diavel 1260 also comes with Sport, Touring or Urban Riding Modes. Additionally, the Diavel 1260 S also features Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), enabling the user to connect the smartphone to the instruments display.
