French car manufacturer Citroen is entering the Indian market for the first time with its flagship SUV, the Citroen C5 Aircross. Citroen is bringing the C5 Aircross to the Indian streets via the CKD route and the SUV is manufactured at the PSA-CK Birla joint production facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. While the C5 Aircross has already started to roll off the production the SUV is not available, yet. The brand is gearing up to launch the C5 Aircross but we got our hand on the new SUV and in this video, we bring to you the most detailed Highway Review for the Citroen C5 Aircross.
Powering the C5 Aircross is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel motor that produces 177 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic unit that powers the front wheels. Citroen is only bringing the diesel powertrain for the Indian market. The Citroen C5 Aircross measures 4500mm in length, 2099mm in width, 1710mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2730mm. But the highlight of the SUV is not its size, it is the suspension. The C5 Aircross features an exclusively developed, new generation ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ suspension system that helps the large SUV stay stable in high-speed corners as well as absorb bumps and potholes giving the car a Flying Carpet Effect.
The C5 Aircross comes with features such as a wide imposing front fascia with chrome trim, C-shaped chrome window lining, LED headlamps on the top trim, LED daytime running lights, chunky roof rails, a Panoramic Sunroof on the top-spec model, powered tailgate with gesture control on the top trim, 18-inch ‘’SWIRL’’ Two-Tone Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels, a heavy dose of plastic cladding that reinforces the cars SUV status, minimalist interior layout, an 8-inch Infotainment Touchscreen with Phone Mirror function, Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration, three independent adjustable seats on the second row, Grey Grained leather upholstery etc.
Citroen will announce the price of the C5 Aircross soon. Expected to SUV to be around the INR 25 lakh mark ex-showroom.
