French car manufacturer, Citroen has finally made its debut in the Indian market by launch the brand’s flagship SUV, the Citroen C5 Aircross at the price of INR 29.90 ex-showroom, Delhi (Introductory). The brand has already commenced bookings for the Citroen C5 Aircross at all Citroen dealerships, physical and through its online sales network. The SUV will be sold in India through the ‘La Maison Citroën Phygital Showrooms’ in 10 cities. The Citroen C5 Aircross is available in four colour options – Pearl White, Pearl Nera Black, Cumulus Grey and Tijuaca Blue. The Citroen C5 Aircross comes with a dual-tone paint option sporting a black roof except for the Pearl Nera Black colour.
The Citroen C5 Aircross will be available in two trims – Feel and Shine. Furthermore, the Feel trim comes with Feel (Mono Tone) at the price of INR 29.90 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi, Feel (Bi-Tone) at the price of INR 30.40 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi and the Shine (Mono/Bi-Tone) at the price of INR 31.90 lakh ex-showroom. The Citroen C5 Aircross can also be purchased directly from the factory with a doorstep delivery available in over 50 cities across India.
Citroen is renowned for its advanced comfort features and the flagship SUV comes boasts to be synonymous with the element of comfort. The C5 Aircross offers features such as all three adjustable seats in the second row with slide and reclines even on the middle seat. The SUV comes with ‘Cocooned in Comfort’ interiors, providing a silent cabin thanks to the acoustic windshield glass. The brand also employs the ‘Flying Carpet’ Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system exclusively developed for the C5 Aircross that not only helps the SUV glide over rough roads but also keep it stable at high highway speeds. Finally, the passengers also enjoy the advanced ‘Comfort Seats’ that draw inspiration from home furniture providing comfort on both daily commutes and long highway drives.
The Citroen C5 Aircross features an upright dashboard fascia for butch SUV looks, soft-touch materials for the premium appeal, stacked air-conditioning vents, piano black and satin silver trim, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with phone mirror function, Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration, a 12.3-inch customisable digital instruments cluster, shift-by-wire technology, a bridge-type transmission tunnel with a lot of storage spots, other intelligent storage spots around the SUV, rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, gesture-control tailgate release and a plethora of active and passive safety features such as multiple airbags, ABS+EBD, traction control, electronic stability programme, reverse camera, parking sensors, over-speed alert, seatbelt reminders etc. The C5 Aircross SUV also received a 4-star safety rating at the Euro NCAP.
The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV measures 4500mm in length, 2099mm in width, 1710mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2730mm. The C5 Aircross comes with halogen headlamps with the option of LED headlamp units on the top trim, LED daytime running lights, rectangular LED taillamps with four individual light signatures, C-shaped chrome window garnish, black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, rock guard on the lower parts of the doors, roof rails and black ORVM housing. The Citroen C5 Aircross also comes with 18-inch “SWIRL” Two-Tone Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels.
Powering the Citroen C5 Aircross is a BS6 emission-compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel motor that produces 177 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and claims to deliver a fuel economy of 18.6 km to a litre. Citroen in the past announced that the C5 Aircross will be their only vehicle in the India portfolio to come with a diesel powertrain and future launches will come with a petrol-only engine.
Citroen offers the C5 Aircross with an easy monthly scheme at INR 49,999 for five years which includes On-Road Finance, routine maintenance, roadside assistance, extended warranty and assured future value. The brand also offers 180 minutes of guaranteed roadside assistance in the majority of cities as well as service on wheels.
