French car manufacturer, Citroen has introduced the Citroen C5 Aircross a premium SUV in the Indian market. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be produced at the brand’s manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu and the SUV has already started to roll off the production line. The brand in a virtual presentation unveiled the C5 Aircross which is laden with features such as ‘Citroen Flying Carpet Effect’ suspension, ‘Cocooned in Comfort’ interiors, ‘Panoramic Life’ cabin and a plethora of comfort and convenience features.
The Citroen C5 Aircross is powered by a DW10FC series 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 177 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The oil burner is powerful yet efficient and claims to deliver 18.6 kmpl of mileage. The Citroen C5 Aircross measures 4500mm in length, 2099mm in width, 1710mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2730mm. The C5 Aircross also features a Citroen exclusive ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ equipped suspension system called ‘Flying Carpet Effect’.
On the outside, the C5 Aircross features a butch front fascia with sleek LED headlamp units, double radiator grille with double Chevron that integrates the LED daytime running lights, a large front apron with aero intakes on the sides, square design vents and low bumper-mounted foglights. The side of the SUV features a C-shaped chrome window garnish, Citroen’s signature Airbump design body cladding, 18-inch ‘’SWIRL’’ Two-Tone Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels, wraparound design rear windscreen, rectangular taillamps and four individual light signatures. The car also comes with a diffuser effect on the bumper with rear foglights.
On the inside, the Citroen C5 Aircross features an upright multilayered dashboard that houses an 8-inch Infotainment Touchscreen with Phone Mirror function, Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration. The C5 Aircross comes with Metropolitan Grey interior finish that features a Grey Dashboard top and Centre Console, Grey Grained leather and Graphite cloth seats. The Advanced Comfort Seats draw inspiration from contemporary furniture and come with high-density foam, broad seatbacks and cushions. The second row features 3 independent adjustable seats which are also capable of multiple reclining positions and slide up to 150mm. The seats also fold flat allowing a larger boot capacity.
The C5 Aircross also features a shift-by-wire technology gear selector, control mounted steering, a 12.3-inch Digital Driver Display with customisable features, kick gesture tailgate opening, intelligent storage spots, Panoramic Glass Sunroof, double-laminated front windows and acoustic windshield glass, on-board Air Quality System (AQS) and a plethora of safety features such as multiple airbags, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Program, Blind Spot Information System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Electric Parking Brake, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Coffee Break Alert system, ISOFIX and more.
The C5 Aircross is offered in four exterior paint options – Pearl White, Cumulus Grey, Pearl Nera Black and Tijuaca Blue. Except for the Pearl Nera Black, the C5 Aircross is also offered with dual-tone paint options with black roof. The brand is also offering 3 years or 1,00,000 km as standard with extended warranty and maintenance packages as well as 24/7 Road-Side Assistance.
