German luxury car manufacturer Audi has launched their new Q5 facelift for the Indian market. Priced at INR 58.93 lakh ex-showroom, Audi brought back the SUV a year after its BS6 transition. The automaker has started accepting bookings from customers for its Q5 facelift via its official website and dealerships. Audi has set an INR 2 lakh booking amount for prospective buyers interested in the new SUV. Audi offers the new Q5 facelift in 2 variants – Premium Plus and Technology. The Technology variant of the new Audi Q5 facelift comes with a sticker price of INR 63.77 lakh ex-showroom.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift: Design Details
To make it look more modern in comparison to its predecessor, Audi has implemented a few subtle yet substantial changes. At the front, the Q5 facelift features a single-frame grille with an octagonal outline and chrome garnishing on the slats. Complementing the new grille, are the redesigned signature LED headlights along with a revised front bumper and side intakes. The front also sports new fog lamp casings with silver accents.
Audi now offers new 19-inch ‘S-design’ alloy wheels on the Q5 facelift for an enhanced style and stance. Towards the rear, the SUV sports restyled LED taillights connected to a brushed aluminium strip alongside a redesigned rear bumper. Audi has priced the top-spec Technology trim of the SUV at INR 63.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Audi offers the SUV in 5 colour options- Navarra Blue, Ibis White, Mythos Black, Floret Silver, and Manhattan Grey.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift: Powertrain Details
Unlike its predecessor, the new Q5 facelift only gets a single petrol engine with no diesel engine as an option. The new Q5 uses the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol TFSI engine found on the current-gen A6. Paired to a 7-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, the engine produces 249 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque.
These performance numbers allow the car to achieve a top speed of 237 km/h. Additionally, the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 6.3 seconds, thanks to these performance figures. Audi also offers its signature ‘Quattro’ all-wheel-drive system for the Q5 facelift as standard to tackle challenging terrains.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift: Interiors and Features Details
To provide a luxurious upmarket experience, Audi offers an Atlas Beige and Okapi Brown colour scheme on the leatherette upholstery. The dashboard now sports Piano Black inlays for a more premium cabin experience on the new Q5 facelift. Audi has focussed on the comfort aspect by offering powered front seats with memory options and 30-coloured ambient lighting. The 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage with Audi’s latest MMI Navigation Plus and Voice Controls.
Paired to a 19-speaker B&O Premium Sound System, the infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additionally, the new Q5 facelift sports wireless charging, a comfort key with sensor-based boot lid operation, and Virtual Cockpit Plus. For safety, the SUV features 8 airbags and 6 driving modes- comfort, dynamic, individual, auto, efficiency, and off-road.
