Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Yamaha has launched the 2020 Tricity 155 in Japan. The Yamaha Tricity 155 is a three-wheeled scooter with two front wheels and a single rear wheel. The Tricity 155 features a unique Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) design at the front that delivers a self-balancing stable ride where the entire vehicle body leans in the turn. The LMW technology consists of a Parallelogram Link and Cantilever Telescopic Suspension which synchronises both the front wheels and maximises road contact in corners with the tandem forks using the cantilevered telescopic suspension system. The two front wheels also allow high braking effort with reduced lockup risks.
In terms of its styling, the Yamaha Tricity 155 comes with an aerodynamic front fascia with a large LED headlamp unit, LED position lamps, body integrated turn signal indicators, a flyscreen, boomerang-shaped side fairing, wheel fenders on the front, ergonomic seats, upright handlebars, body integrated pillion grabrails, a large footboard, under-seat luggage compartment, front storage space, under-seat fuel tank filler, large LCD instruments display etc.
The Yamaha Tricity 155 is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valves SOHC engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and produces 15 ps of power and 14.4 Nm of torque matched to a V-belt automatic gearbox. The Yamaha Tricity 155 is 1,980mm in length, 750mm in width, 1,210mm in height and has a 1,350mm of wheelbase along with 125mm of ground clearance and 780mm of seat height.
In terms of mechanical hardware, the Tricity 155 features dual telescopic front forks with 90mm of travel, a single suspension on the unit swingarm on the rear, 220mm hydraulically operated disc brakes on the front and a 230mm single unit on the rear, 14-inch alloy wheels on the front shod in 90/80 tyres and a 13-inch alloy wheel at the rear with 130/70 tyre.
The Yamaha Tricity 155 is priced at JPY 440,000 (Base Price) in the Japanese market which converts to INR 312,000.
