Iconic British motorcycling brand Triumph launched the BS6 emission-compliant much-popular 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS in India at INR 11.13 lakh ex-showroom, a few months ago. The brand has now updated its price on the official website in India to INR 11.33 lakh ex-showroom which is a price hike of INR 20,000 on its ex-showroom price.
The 2020 Street Triple was launched with new engine and styling updater and other than the new price, there have been no changes to the motorcycle itself. The price hike is in line with the brand’s announcement of price revisions in July on its BS6 line of products which Triumph had made earlier this year.
The Triumph Street Triple is powered by a BS6 compliant 765cc in-line Triple, a three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 12-valve DOHC engine with multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control and the motor produces 123 PS of power and 29 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper assist clutch and Triumph Shift Assist (Bi-directional Quick Shifter).
In terms of mechanical hardware, the 2020 Street Triple features an aluminium beam twin-spar frame with a 2 piece high-pressure die-cast subframe that rides on a fully adjustable 41mm upside-down Showa big piston forks (BPF) on the front and fully-adjustable Ohlins STX40 rear suspension with piggyback reservoir mounted on a twin-sided, cast aluminium alloy swingarm. Stopping power comes from twin 310mm floating discs with Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc callipers on the front and a single 220 mm disc with Brembo single-piston calliper on the rear wheel armed with a switchable ABS.
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple has been updated with new dual split headlamps that come with integrated LED daytime running lights giving the motorcycle an angrier and aggressive stance, a new flyscreen, a fully digital instruments cluster, new bar-end mirrors, new fuel tank design, new body panels, new engine finish, new LED tail lamps etc.
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS is offered in two colour options – Silver Ice with Aluminium Silver & Diablo Red decals and Matte Jet Black with Aluminium Silver & Yellow decals.
