Piaggio has launched the 2020 Facelift Vespa VXL and Vespa SXL premium scooters starting at INR 1.10 lakh ex-showroom, Pune. Both the VXL and SXL are offered in the BS6 compliant 125cc and 150cc engine iterations. The brand has also launched the the new Aprilia Storm under the brand’s performance marquee ‘Aprilia’ at the price of INR 91,321 ex-showroom, Pune.
Piaggio has commenced bookings on the Vespa and Aprilia with a booking amount of INR 1,000 on their e-commerce platforms as well as at Piaggio (Vespa & Aprilia) dealerships. The brand has also announced that customers can avail the benefits of up to INR 2,000 by booking the Aprilia and Vespa scooter online.
The new offerings were unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 in February and recently the company started accepting pre-bookings of the Vespa VXL and SXL that are available in both the 125 and 150 options with new BS6 emission compliant engine. Customers can book the facelift Vespa VXL and SXL facelift along with the new updated Aprilia Storm from the brand’s contactless online booking platform.
The key differentiating factors on the new facelift Vespa SXL and VXL are a full steel monocoque body with new 3 coat body colours along with new twin-pot callipers on the disc brakes integrated with ABS or CBS braking technology as well as a new 5 spoke petal design alloy wheels shod in broad rubber. The new facelift models also feature crystal illumination LED headlamps with a centre spar LED daytime running light integrated into the headlamp unit, USB mobile charging port, boot light and an adjustable rear suspension.
The Aprilia Storm facelift also features a new LED headlamp unit, analogue-digital instruments cluster with amber backlit, disc brakes, twin pot calliper front disc brake, 12-inch black alloy wheels, with wide cross pattern tyres and a BS6 compliant 125cc 3-valve fuel-injected engine.
Both the Vespa VXL and SXL are powered by a BS6 compliant 125cc or 150cc single-cylinder air/fan-cooled, 4-stroke, 3-valve OHC fuel-injected motor upgraded to comply with the new emission norms as well as provide a balance between performance and efficiency. The new BS6 emissions conformity is likely to have been achieved using a map sensor and three catalytic convertors employed on the recently launched Vespa VXL 149 and SXL 149.
The Vespa VXL and SXL 125/150 along with the Aprilia Storm 125 will be available across all Vespa and Aprilia dealerships in India.
