2020 Nissan Magnite will get 1.0L 71 BHP & 99 BHP engines

With the official launch inching closer, more and more details of the upcoming Nissan Magnite compact-SUV keep emerging on the web. Now, the brochure leak for this sub-4 metre leaves nothing to imagination as the list of features and the engine specs are completely revealed. As we know, Nissan will be introducing the Magnite in a total of 20 variants, spread across a wide price range. When launched, the Magnite will become the new entry-level car for brand Nissan in India. Earlier, the Magnite was going to be launched as a Datsun product. But slowly and surely, the Datsun brand is going to be wiped off.

Powering the Nissan Magnite will be 2 engine options; one naturally aspirated and the other one turbocharged. The 1.0L, B4D, naturally aspirated, 3-cylinder petrol motor will produce 71 BHP of power @ 6250 RPM matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0L, HRA0, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor will produce 99 BHP of peak power @ 5000 RPM and 160 Nm of peak torque @ 2800 – 3600 RPM matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional CVT automatic. Point to note, the CVT version of this turbo-petrol model has the torque limited to 152 Nm.

The 2020 Nissan Magnite will be available in XE, XL, XV, XV Tech Pack, XV Premium, XV Premium Tech Pack, XV Premium (O) & XV Premium (O) Tech Pack. This compact-SUV will be sold in a total of 8 body colour options which also includes dual tone paint finishes. Standard safety features on the Magnite will include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, anti-roll bar, reverse parking sensors, engine immobilizer, child lock, emergency hazard warning light, rear defogger, seat belt reminder, speed alert system, etc.

By SUV standards, the Nissan Magnite is a light car with kerb weight ranging between 939 kg – 1039 kg. It measures 3994mm in length, 1758mm in width, 1572mm in height, 2500mm in wheelbase, 205mm in ground clearance, 336L of boot space and has a 40L fuel tank capacity. The Magnite rides on 16″ wheels as standard on all variants and gets a space saver 15″ spare wheel.
