One of our avid readers has shared fully undisguised images of the upcoming Nissan Magnite compact-SUV. This is the latest all-new product to go on sale from Nissan here for our market, and the global unveiling is all set to happen on 21st October, 1 PM IST. The Nissan Magnite was earlier going to be launched under the Datsun brand. What we are happy to report is that the final production ready Nissan Magnite looks very close to the concept which was revealed earlier, and this shows how hard Nissan has tried in the design department to come out with a product to appeal to the modern car buyer. As we all know by now, the Nissan Magnite is going to be a sub-4 metre compact-SUV.
Seen in the images in this post, we have the Magnite in red + black dual tone paint scheme. Our reader did mention that there was another blue + white dual tone variant alongside this one (already seen in other spyshots). The Nissan Magnite was possibly out for a product shoot for the launch campaigns all set to start ahead of the festive season.
Features which we can confirm which will be seen on the top trims of the Nissan Magnite include a wide front grille, a chunky Nissan badge housed within that grille, healthy dose of chrome surround for the grille, L shaped LED DRLs, separate front fog lamps housed within the body cladding, sleek LED headlamps, dual tone paint scheme with different roof colour options, silver finished roof rails, blacked out A-pillar and B-pillar, chrome door handles, integrated & contoured spoiler, squared wheel arches, body cladding on the side with integrated silver moulding, dual tone diamond cut alloy wheels, front and rear faux silver skid plates, safety red reflectors on the rear bumper, almost no use of chrome on the tail gate, integrated turn indicators on the ORVMs and prominent cuts & crease lines all around.
While interior pictures were not managed, the earlier glimpse which Nissan shared of the Magnite was enough for potential buyers to have an idea. The Magnite will have bright and textured interior panels, digital speedometer cluster, 8″ touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera support, automatic climate control, front and rear arm rests, bolstered & textured seats, generous use of silver / chrome accents, steering mounted controls, engine start / stop button, etc.
The Nissan Magnite is expected to be launched with a 1.0L naturally aspirated as well as turbocharged engine options along with manual and CVT or AMT automatic gearbox choices. While power output can only be speculated before the official unveil, expect both the engine versions to vary between 70 PS – 100 PS. The Nissan Magnite will become the brands most affordable car for the Indian market, slotting below the Kicks. At the moment, Nissan only lists the GT-R for the Indian market apart from the Kicks. So the Magnite, is VERY important for the brand. But from what we see, so far so good…
