2020 Mini Countryman Facelift revealed, gets minor cosmetic upgrades

Mini has introduced the upgraded new 2020 Mini Countryman with minor updates to its interior and exteriors as well as some standard equipments and features that were earlier only available on high-end trims. Mini Countryman is the first model in the brand’s line-up with an exterior length of more than four metres, four doors, a large tailgate, five seats and all-wheel drive. 

For 2020 the brand’s largest model now features a newly designed radiator grille, LED headlamps, peripheral LED daytime running lights & LED fog lights now as standard, LED rear lights in Union Jack design, new piano black exterior body finishes, new light allow wheels, new optional digital cockpit display with a 5-inch colour screen, sports leather steering wheels as standard, an optional newly designed central instrument in Piano Black High Gloss design, new leather trim in the cabin, new Mini Connected functions and extended range of Mini accessories. 

The 2020 Mini Countryman on the exterior features a refreshed grille but retains its original design features, such as a multilayered front apron with rounded foglights now available in LED as standard, air intakes flanking the bumper, black inserts on the bumper, standard LED headlamps, rounded wheel arches with black claddings, blacked-out pillars and roof, shark-fin antenna, roof rails, vertically oriented tail lamps, ‘Countryman’ badging on the tailgate, piano black number plate embellishment, tailgate integrated spoiler and a chrome-tipped exhaust.

On the inside, the 2020 Mini Countryman features a multilayered dashboard with a large rounded central console housing an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features latest-generation telematics from the brand, digital instrumentation, three-point control mounted steering wheel with classic rounded horn-pad, chunky gear select lever, toggle-style switchgear, rounded aircon controls, vertical aircon vents, contoured seats etc. 

The Mini Countryman is powered by a  range of engine option in the global market including three petrol engine, three diesel engine featuring the latest Mini TwinPower Turbo technology and a Plug-In Hybrid variant, all meeting Euro 6d standards which are set to come into force in 2021. Out of these four engines can be combined with the all-wheel-drive system ALL4 on request while the Plug-In hybrid comes with ALL4 as a standard part of the pack. 

The new Mini Cooper SE Countryman All4 comes with a 6-speed Steptronic transmission as standard while the Mini Cooper Countryman ALL4 and the Mini Cooper D Countryman ALL4 now feature an 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard along with the Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4, Mini Cooper SD Countryman and Mini Cooper SD Countryman ALL4 models and optionally available for Mini Cooper D Countryman. For all other models, 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available to replace the standard 6-speed manual transmission.
