MG Motor India recently unveiled the brand’s flagship premium SUV in the Indian market, the MG Gloster and opened pre-launch bookings on the SUV with a deposit of INR 100,000 to reserve the vehicle through the brand’s online sales channels as wells as its physical stores. Now the brand has revealed that the MG Gloster SUV will come in four variant options. The bookings are live for all four variants.
The variant options have been named Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy with Super being the entry-level model and the top-of-the-line trim dubbed Savvy. The base trim, Super will feature a 7-seat layout while the Smart, Sharp and Savvy come only with the 6-seat with Captain Seat option, but the Sharp trim will be available with the option of 6-seats and 7-seat layouts. The entry-level Super and the low-mid-spec Smart come with a 2.0-litre Turbocharged diesel engine with a 4X2 driveline that makes 163 PS of power and 375 Nm of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission while the mid-high-spec Sharp and the top-of-the-line Savvy are powered by a 2.0-litre Twin-Turbocharged diesel motor with a 4X4 driveline that churns out 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission unit. The Gloster SUV measures 4985mm in length, 1926mm in width, 1867mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2950mm.
The entry-level Super trim and features that are standard across all variants include a chrome radiator grille, chrome exterior door handles decorative fender, ORVM garnish, double-barrel twin chrome exhausts, front and rear mud flaps, LED headlamps with auto levelling, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. On the interiors, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with USB, FM and other connectivity features is offered as standard on all trims. All four variants have the dashboard and door panel with Premium leather layering and soft-touch materials.
The MG Gloster also comes with standard safety equipment such as dual front, side, & full-length curtain airbags along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System, Roll Movement Intervention, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, and Rear Disc Brakes. The Super trim also comes with Driver Fatigue Reminder System, Reverse Parking Camera, and Electric Parking Brake with Auto hold.
The Smart trim comes with all the abovementioned standard features along with a chrome skid plate, a chrome DLO garnish, roof rails, side stepper, premium brown leather interiors, chrome-plated boot sill trim, red ambient lighting, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, PM 2.5 filter, powered tailgate with kick gesture operation, 12-way power adjustment seat, 3-zone climate control, i-Smart 2.0 integration and 70 connected car features including Android Auto and Apple Carplay integration.
The Sharp trim comes with on-demand Intelligent Four-Wheel-Drive (4WD) with Electro-mechanical Differential Lock, 7-mode Eco, Sport, Auto, Snow, Mud, and Sand All-terrain System, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, memory seat function with massage and ventilated seats, wireless charging, Blind Spot Detection, 360-degree camera, 64 colour ambient lights, illuminated scuff plates, puddle lamps with logo projection and a 12 speaker system with subwoofer and amplifier.
The Savvy trim includes the Level 1 Autonomous features which are also known as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert etc. The top-of-the-line trim also offers Apple Watch Connectivity, 3D maps from MapMyIndia, Anti-Theft Immobilization personalised greetings and Shortpedia App for short news.
MG Motor India is also set to soon unveil the industry-first ‘Shield’ – Ownership Package for Gloster customers.
