Mahindra is planning to give the TUV300 another new update and the 2020 TUV300 has been spied testing which is likely to get a BSVI compliant engine and new notable updates on the exterior of the car. The test mule in the spied images suggests that the SUV is likely to get a completely revamped front fascia with a new grille that gets six vertical slats on the front grille with a honeycomb mesh around it, the rectangular air dam on the current TUV300 will be replaced with a new trapezoidal air dam and the bumper mounted fog lamps though hidden underneath the camouflage stickers appear to be more sleeker and wider than the squarish ones currently on the TUV300. The headlights and indicator lamps were makeshift ones, on the spied car, leading us to believe that they are likely to get a new refreshed design which might be seen on the car in the later stages of testing.
The spied pictures only show the front of the car and the rear pictures are unavailable at the moment but it is also expected to get a revised rear design to keep up with the front.
In its current form, the TUV300 is powered by an mHAWK100 diesel engine with a 2-stage turbocharger and an engine displacement of 1493 cc, producing 100 BHP of power @ 3750 RPM and 240 Nm of torque @ 1600-2800 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The TUV 300 is 3995 mm in length 1795 mm in width and 1817 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2680 mm and has carrying capacity of 5+2 passengers, the boot space capacity is 384 litres expandable to up to 720 litres and has a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres.
According to a media report, the new TUV300 is likely to be updated to a new BSVI engine that is expected to be a 2.2-litre mHAWK D120 diesel engine with 118 BHP of power and 280 Nm of torque but there is no confirmation that the engine will be seen in this configuration. The car is expected to get updated before April 2020 when the BSVI emissions are enforced.
In terms of competition, the TUV300 rivals the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Tata Nexon among others.
