Mahindra has announced that it has introduced new features on the top-of-the-line spec Scorpio SUV. The new upgrade will be available on the S9 and S11 trims of the new Scorpio. The upgrade is to the in-car infotainment system which is now available with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. The new features will be offered to the consumers without any additional price and will be part of the regular product upgrade.
The new upgraded infotainment system will help the customer organise key information from their device and will also enable the driver to access the device, via voice or steering-mounted controls, without taking their hands off the wheel, minimising distraction and reducing the rate of accidents, hence improving the safety quotient on the vehicle.
Other than the upgrade the Mahindra Scorpio’s interiors remain unchanged and it features the same dual-tone black and grey layered dashboard with silver and chrome trim along with the centrally mounted 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features the new upgrades, control mounted steering wheel and semi-digital instrument console, rotary air conditioning controls etc. The Scorpio comes with the same seating layout with jump seats in the third row and the option of captain seats in the second row with front-facing seat in the third row in the top of the line S11 model.
The Mahindra Scorpio was also recently upgraded to achieve BS6 emissions conformity and is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.2-litre mHawk series 4-cylinder common rail direct injection diesel engine with an intercooled variable geometry turbocharger that produces 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox on the base S5 variant while the S7, S9 and the S11 trims come with a 6-speed manual unit.
In the Indian market, the Mahindra Scorpio S9 is priced at INR 14.62 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai and the top-spec S11 is priced at INR 15.79 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai.
