2020 Kia Sonet Compact-SUV Photo Gallery

In February 2020, South Korean car manufacturer, Kia showcased its latest compact SUV in the concept form at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi and now the brand is gearing up to introduce the road-going series-production version of the SUV in a World Premiere set to happen today on the 7th of August 2020. Here are some key details of the Kia Sonet compact SUV which claims to sweep the compact SUV segment off its feet with its crisp new design and many first-in-segment features. 

The Kia Sonet will become the brand’s second Made In India car after its bestseller in the Indian market the Kia Seltos and in terms of design, the Kia Sonet reverberates with the brand’s young and sporty design DNA and features signature Kia traits such as the Tiger Nose grille with knurled effect, Crown Jewel LED headlamps with heartbeat LED daytime running lights integrated with turn indicators, a distinctive three-dimensional mesh radiator grille inspired by India’s step wells, ‘Turbo’ shaped front skid plates, diffuser fin rear skid plate design, heartbeat LED tail lamps, a connected reflector garnish that connected both the tail lamp units, sporty dual mufflers, etc. 

On the inside, the Kia Sonet features a plethora of features with much first-in-segment pieces of equipment the highlight of which is India’s first Smart Pure Air Purifier with Virus Protection, 10.25-inch (AVN) touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connected technology that comes with 57 features including the seamless UVO – Voice Assist, Smart Key remote engine start in both the Automatic Transmission and Manual Transmission, front row driver and passenger ventilated seats. The large 10.25-inch AVN is connected with a 4.2-inch digital instruments panel set on the same plane giving the dash a wide panoramic appearance. 

The compact SUV also boasts features such as premium BOSE 7-speaker System with Sub-woofer that claims to be the loudest range made by the bespoke audio equipment manufacturer, LED Sound Mood Lamps, front parking sensors, Over-The-Air (OTA) map updates, wireless smartphone charging with cooling function, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Multi Drive Modes and Grip Control in the AT variants. 

The GT Line of the Kia Sonet features distinctive highlights all over the SUV such as the GT Line specific high gloss black grille with GT Line logo, red accents on the air dam, Piano Black Diffuser Fin Skid Plates with red accents on the rear apron, red-accented rock guard on the side, red-accented KIA hub cap on the alloy wheels, red brake callipers and the GT Line features continue on the inside as well and the Sonet GT Line gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel with red stitching and GT Line logo, red stitching on the gear selector, seats with GT Line embroidery, red-stitched armrests and door pads.  

The Kia Sonet also comes with a plethora of health, active and passive safety features and the car is constructed using 2/3 high strength and advanced high strength steel and comes with equipment such as Six Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Brake Assist, Front & Rear parking sensors, Projector Fog lamps, Highline tyre pressure monitor, Auto headlamps and ISOFIX child seat anchoring system along with other automotive industry-standard features.
