2020 Hyundai i20 for India interiors leaked – looks FUTURISTIC

Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the all-new i20 in the Indian market. The hot hatchback has already been revealed in the international market, but now the production-spec Indian version of the i20 which is expected to soon arrive in Indian showrooms has been revealed inside-out, before its debut. The new-generation model follows the brand’s latest Sensuous and Sporty design language which aims to strike a perfect balance between ‘proportion, architecture, styling, and technology’.

According to the spied pictures, the all-new Hyundai i20 comes with a multilayered dashboard with an all-black finish and the new design infotainment system that integrates with the instruments cluster. The large infotainment screen is likely to be integrated with the latest generation telematics – Hyundai Advanced Bluelink with connected features evident from the request switches mounted on the IRVM. The i20 features horizontal slats on the dashboard fascia which seamlessly integrate with the air-conditioning vents on the centre and run all the way to the ends, giving the dashboard a wider appearance.

The i20 features a unique air-con control setup, that slightly juts out from the dashboard and comes with toggle-style switches for the temperature and fan speed. A row of buttons below the main AC controls is also seen which is likely to control various aspects such as various modes for defogging etc. On the transmission tunnel, the i20 appears to get wireless smartphone charging placed in the forward cubby hole, cupholder in the middle which comes with an Air Purifier and a centre armrest cum storage space. The car also features rear AC vents.

The new-generation Hyundai i20 features the latest design leather-wrapped D-Cut steering wheel similar to the All-New Creta, steering-mounted controls for Voice commands, telephony, menu control, cruise control with toggle-style rockers. The hatchback also features a fully-digital instruments console with a layout similar to the New Verna. The car also comes with contoured seats and the spied model appears to get leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching. It is still unclear if the i20 will come with premium features such as ventilated seats which will set a new benchmark in the segment. The spied model comes with an electric sunroof and is also likely to boast features such as push-button Start/Stop, automatic headlamps with ambient light sensor and rain-sensing wipers.

The Hyundai i20 is likely to be offered in four variant options – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta(O). The hatchback is also expected to be offered in three engine options and multiple gearbox options such as – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine and a 1.0-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine. It is also expected to get a Manual transmission, and IVT automatic, a 7-speed DCT automatic and an iMT clutch-pedal-less manual transmission.

The next-generation Hyundai i20 is expected to be launched in India by the end of this month.
