The SUV that redefined the market in price and body type segment, the Creta is all set to arrive in the new generation avatar. Hyundai has had a runaway success with the Creta and almost every other car manufacturer has tried their hands in this segment. But only Kia have succeeded with the Seltos SUV so far. Hyundai has now revealed the sketch of the new generation Creta, although we know what the real deal would look like since it is already on sale abroad. Also known as the IX25 in some markets, the 2020 Hyundai Creta will make a debut on 6th February, 1:30 pm at the Auto Expo 2020.
On the outside, you notice a full makeover with LED DRLs, new projector headlamps, large cascading grille, flared wheel arches, blacked out A & B pillars, large alloy wheels, body cladding, clamshell bonnet design, large panoramic sunroof, integrated rear spoiler design, conventional door handle placement, LED tail lamps, skid plate effect in the front and back and strong side body crease lines. With this, the 2020 Hyundai Creta will surely look all-new, with no design highlight being carried forward. Hyundai says that their new Creta has taken design cues to make the car look sensuous and sporty.
India’s most loved 5-seater urban SUV now sees a complete design makeover, and also, the SUV will come with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. Engines on the 2020 Hyundai Creta will be shared with the Kia Seltos. So expect a naturally aspirated base petrol motor, a turbocharged petrol for the sporty car desiring customer and a diesel motor as well. All engines will come with manual and automatic gearbox combinations. Pricing of the new Hyundai Creta will be in the range of INR 9 – 16 lakh ex-showroom. The Creta has helped the brand increase their average car selling price, and hence, among other players in the market, Hyundai in India positions itself as a modern premium car maker.
