2020 BS6 Datsun Go & Go+ launched in India starting at INR 3.99 Lakh

Datsun has launched the new BS6 compliant Datsun Go and Datsun Go+ at the starting price of INR 3,99,000 ex-showroom, Delhi and INR 4,19,990 ex-showroom, Delhi respectively. The Datsun Go and Go+ are available in 7 variant trims 6 colour options and come with manual and new CVT gearbox options. 

In terms of design, the Datsun Go and Go+ are styled similarly and feature similar equipment and are differentiated by the longer body of the Datsun Go+ which accommodates an extra row of seats and the third row can hold 2 more passengers effectively making the Datsun Go+ a 7-seater with 5+2 seating layout. 

To put things into perspective, the Datsun Go 5-seater measures in at 3788mm of length, 1636 of width, 1507mm of height, 2450mm of the wheelbase, 180mm of the ground clearance, 265 litres of boot space and a kerb weight of 859 kg. The Datsun Go+ with a capacity of 7 seats is 207mm longer at 3995mm to accommodate the extra row of seats, has a 347 litres boot space with the third-row seats folded and 45 kg of added weight making its weigh 904 kgs at the kerb. 

Styling features include a chrome-accented grille, 3D shaped swept-back headlamps, vertical bar-style LED daytime running lights, faux carbon fibre insert on the DRL area, 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, raised bonnet lines, wide shoulder lines, rounded wheel arches, combination taillamps and black inserts on the rear bumper that reverberate with the front. 

On the inside, the Datsun Go and Go+ feature a dual-tone cabin with silver accents and black faux carbon fibre embellishments on the dashboard, air-con control area door pads etc. Both cars feature a centrally mounted 17.78-cm capacitive touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, power windows, anti-fatigue seats, three-point steering wheel, blue-accented analogue instrumentation etc. 

In the engine department, both the Datsun Go and Go+ are powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant HR12 DE series 1.2-litre three-cylinder 4-valve naturally aspirated DOHC engine that produces 77 PS of power and 104 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox which is superior than the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) that featured on its predecessor. 

The brand is also offering a new finance scheme called ‘Buy Now and PAY In 2021’ which enables easy acquisition of the vehicle that allows flexibility to delay the start of EMI by 7 months. 

Both cars are available in a choice of six colours – Ruby Red, Bronze Grey, Amber Orange, Crystal Silver, Vivid Blue, and Opal White.
