Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Wagon R here in India. The cars have already been dispatched to dealers, and allied component partners have already revealed the launch date to be 23rd January 2019, although Maruti Suzuki hasn’t shared it yet, officially. Now, the all-new Wagon R was caught by the cameras in all its glory, revealing all the features.
The primary highlight for the 2019 Wagon R is going to be inside the car. The new Wagon R will get the same touchscreen infotainment system like we see on the Ciaz, Baleno & Vitara Brezza. This unit supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto and also gets voice command features. Spyshots reveal that the Wagon R now gets dual tone beige and black interiors, new steering wheel with infotainment and telephone controls, new speedo console with a circular MID, new floor console with a cubby holes and visibly more space in the cabin.
Outside, you get new headlamp and tail lamps, new front fog lamp housing, new grille, ORVMs with turn indicators, steel wheels, floating roof effect and some prominent crease lines.
Powering the new Wagon R will be the same 1.0L petrol motor. This time, the Wagon R apart from a 5-speed manual will also get a AMT gearbox right from the day of launch. Also, fuel options will include petrol, petrol + CNG & petrol + LPG options. Mileage figure will be more than 20 kmpl for sure.
The Wagon R is India’s most loved hatchback, it sells consistently, not just in the passenger segment, but even as a commercial taxi car.
