Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated 2019 Ignis hatchback in India with prices starting from INR 4.79 lakh. The 2019 Ignis continues to be on sale in the premium Nexa dealerships however the diesel variant is now discontinued.
Standard across all variants, the 2019 Ignis now comes with dual-airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, passenger seat belt reminder, ISOFIX, and high speed alert. Also, the cosmetic addition on the Zeta & Alpha variants on the Ignis includes roof rails.
The Ignis was first launched in 2017, but now finds it difficult to attract buyers. The primary problem for the Ignis is how compact it is, and yet it demanded for a lot of money compared to the Maruti Suzuki Swift itself, let alone competition brands.
Powering the Ignis is a 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 61 kW of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox.
