Ford India has launched the 2014 Ford Fiesta facelift starting at Rs. 7.69 lakh. The 2014 Fiesta will be available in three variants — Ambiente, Trend and Titanium — all powered by the 1.5L Duratorq diesel engine delivering a fuel efficiency of 25.01 Kmpl. The facelift will not get a petrol engine. The facelift gets a trapezoidal front grille, revised front & rear bumpers, new headlamps & tail lamps, new alloy wheels and a slightly different boot lid. On the interior front, the Fiesta now has a black and grey colour scheme with the dashboard and instrument cluster lighting now in blue instead of red. Standard features across all variants include EPAS, ABS with EBD, driver airbag (front passenger airbag only in Trend & Titanium), chrome radiator grille, ‘guide me home’ headlamps, height adjustable driver’s seat, split-folding rear seat, remote locking and electrically adjustable mirrors. Prices (ex-showroom, Delhi):
With the facelift, Ford has managed to undercut the Fiesta’s price compared to its direct competitor — the Hyundai Verna & Honda City. Will this turn the tables for the Fiesta, which barely found any buyers in its pre-facelift avatar? Only time will tell…
