Pure EV is recalling 2,000 units of its EPluto 7G and ETrance+ electric scooters. The company has announced the recall following multiple incidents of scooters catching fire. The increasing incidents of e-scooter fires are a concern for the customers as well as the manufacturers. Hence, multiple manufacturers are now proactively issuing recalls or organizing battery health check-up camps.
According to the official communication, Pure EV says they will thoroughly check the scooters for their health. Pure EV dealers will contact owners of EPluto 7G and ETrance+ about the recall. The manufacturer recalls a total of 2,000 units.
The manufacturer says they will thoroughly check the battery’s health. Additionally, the company will also use its Batrics Faraday device for calibration. The Batrics Faraday device will also be able to check for potential imbalance issues in batteries. In addition to this, Pure EV will calibrate the charger and Battery Management System (BMS) of the EPluto 7G and ETrance+.
The ETrance+ is the standard version of the ETrance Neo. The smaller capacity version uses a 250-Watt Brushless Hub Motor with a 60V 1250 Wh Portable NMC 18650 3C Ultra Performance battery pack and also features a 60V Vector Looped controller. The Pure EV ETrance+ has a top speed of 25 kmph and can do up to 85 km on a single charge.
The Pure EV EPluto 7G comes with a 2.5 kWh portable battery pack that claims to return a range of up to 100 km on a single charge. The top speed of the electric scooter is 60 kmph. Powering the EPluto 7G is an in-house developed lithium-ion battery. The battery is developed and also manufactured by PurEnergy. PurEnergy is the parent company of Pure EV.
