Mahindra & Mahindra has announced an exciting and noble initiative. The first-ever Mahindra Thar ROXX SUV, bearing the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ‘0001’, is set to be auctioned, with all proceeds going towards a charitable cause.
This isn’t the first time Mahindra has taken such a philanthropic step. Back in 2020, the company auctioned the first unit of the Thar 3-door model, which fetched a remarkable INR 1.11 crore. The proceeds from that auction were also donated to a charitable cause, setting a precedent for the upcoming Thar ROXX auction.
The auction for the first Mahindra Thar ROXX will commence on September 12, 2024. While the exact charitable cause has not been disclosed, Mahindra’s history of supporting noble initiatives assures that the proceeds will be used for a significant and impactful purpose.
Launched on August 15, 2024, the Mahindra Thar ROXX boasts a new-age M-GLYDE platform, which is an enhanced version of the Scorpio N chassis. The Thar ROXX is available in seven striking colors: Stealth Black, Burnt Sienna, Deep Forest, Battleship Grey, Nebula Blue, Tango Red, and Everest White.
The SUV features a host of design enhancements, including LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a new 6-slat grille, tweaked wheel arches, a reworked tail, and new 19-inch wheels. The Thar ROXX is taller, wider, and longer than the 3-door variant, offering a more spacious and comfortable ride.
Inside, the Thar ROXX is designed to provide maximum comfort and luxury. The base variant features a dark color scheme, while higher trims offer a white cabin. Top-spec models come equipped with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats. Safety is also a priority, with the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
