Suzuki has launched the 155cc Gixxer motorcycle in India at prices starting from Rs. 72,199 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Designed by the engineers of the legendary Suzuki GSX-R Series, the Gixxer is a naked street bike. The Gixxer gets a headlamp with minimum fairing, and includes pilot lamps. Sculpted tank also gets floating cowls on the side similar to the Yamaha FZ series. It gets step-up seats, but not split. Engine and alloy wheels are painted in black and the bike gets a chrome exhaust tip. Number plate mount looks clean and is one of the best looking units in the segment. The bike gets a monoshock rear suspension and a telescopic fork at the front. A disc brake is provided at the front while the rear does the job with a drum brake. Instrument cluster is an all-digital unit and the tail lamp gets LEDs.
The Gixxer is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, air cooled engine with a five-speed gearbox. It gets Suzuki’s latest SEP technology which boosts performance along with fuel efficiency. The engine produces peak power of 14.8 PS @ 8,000 RPM and peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 RPM. The bike also comes equipped with a 12V, 3Ah maintenance free battery. The Gixxer weighs 135 kgs.
The bike is now available in 5 colour options – Metallic Oort Grey, Candy Antares Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Mirage White.
