After being delayed for a couple of years, Fiat is finally all-set to bring down the Jeep brand to India in 2015.
The company has already mentioned that the Indian line-up will include the Grand Cherokee & Wrangler in the beginning, while the cheaper Renegade SUV will be locally built in India around 2017.
Fiat will set up around 15 new dealerships for the Jeep brand in India by the end of 2015. Expect these 15 dealerships to be located in prime regions such as Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Cochin, Chennai, Kolkata, etc. The number of dealerships are expected to double in 2016, taking the count roughly above 30 dealerships pan-India, if possible.
Bringing down the flagsip Grand Cherokee model right from the start is a good move. This will surely create quite a buzz in the market when launched.
