120 Bookings in 10 Days for Hyundai Kona Electric

Hyundai Motors India Limited launched the Kona Electric on 9th July, 2019 in India at a price of INR 25.30 lakh ex-showroom, and the brand has now announced that in just 10 days from its launch, the country’s first long-range electric vehicle has achieved 120 confirmed bookings.

It has also come to notice that the Hyundai Kona Electric has received 10,000 test drive requests from its potential customers. The Kona electric is available in 15 Hyundai dealerships in 11 cities. Apart from India, the Kona electric is available in USA, Canada, Europe, Russia, South Korea and Australia and has a presence of 15,000 customers worldwide.

The Kona electric is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that generates 136 PS of power and 395 Nm of torque connected to a 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is said to provide the range of 452 km on a single charge. The battery can be recharged via a 50kW DC quick charger in approximately 57 minutes and via an AC Home charger in approximately 6 hours 10 minutes. In terms of safety, the Kona electric comes with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, a reinforced battery pack and the car is made of ultra-high-strength steel.

The Hyundai Kona electric features, full LED twin type headlights with split type LED taillights, roof rails, body cladding and comes in 4 solid colour options – Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver and Marina Blue and a Dual Tone colour – Polar white with black roof. The car gets features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a 7-inch digital dashboard, heads-up display, automatic climate control with an option of a driver only AC. The Kona Electric comes with four Driving modes – Eco, Eco+, Comfort and Sport. 

The Kona electric also comes with a 3-year/unlimited km warranty as standard along with an 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty for the battery.
