Volvo launches XC40 R-Design variant in India for INR 39.90 lakh

Volvo has launched their new and smallest SUV, the XC40 here in India. Priced at INR 39.90 lakh ex-showroom, the Volvo XC40 is available only in a single ‘R-Design’ variant and is now available at a booking amount of INR 5 lakh. The Volvo XC40 comes with features which the competition doesn’t even offer, and makes it a very, very interesting offering in the segment.

Powering the Volvo XC40 is a 2.0L, 4-cylinder, D4 diesel engine producing 190 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Power is sent to all-four-wheels and in the future, a petrol variant could be considered. The R-Design variant is a more sporty iteration of the XC40 and comes with 18″ rims, black surrounds for the front grille, R-Design badging, sunroof, dual tone paint, etc.

Inside, the Volvo XC40 gets a wireless charger, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, 9.0″ touchscreen infotainment system, heated front seats, electric tail gate, leather upholstery, etc.

The Volvo XC40 is the only car in the segment with Level 2 Autonomous Driving. Additional safety features include 8 airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, emergency braking, pilot assist, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, lane-keeping assist, hill descent control and the likes.

The new Volvo XC40 rivals the likes of BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3.
