Tata Altroz premium hatchback launched in India for INR 5.29 lakh

The much awaited hatchback from the Tata Motors stable, the Altroz has been launched in India to rival other premium hatchbacks which include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Toyota Glanza. The Tata Altroz is an all-new hatchback and slots above the Tiago in the brand portfolio.

The Tata Altroz is the only car in its segment as of date which has scored a full 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests. The Tata Altroz is the brands best looking product yet with a very stylish yet balanced design. Based on the new ALFA platform, the Tata Altroz is also one of the most spacious premium hatchbacks in the segment.

Powering the Tata Altroz petrol is a 1.2L Revotron, 3-cylinder motor producing 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel Altroz is powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder motor producing 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. There are Eco & City driving modes on this car, but no option of an automatic gearbox at the moment. The Tata Altroz has a unladen ground clearance of 165mm.

Features in the Tata Altroz include ABS with EBD and CSC, dual front airbags, 90-degree opeing doors, digital + analogue speedometer, touchscreen infotainent, premium Harman audio, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, auto start / stop system in petrol variant, ambient lights, rear AC vents, etc.
