Suzuki reveals GSX-S1000GT sports tourer

Suzuki has revealed the latest Sport Touring motorcycle in its litre-class stable. The new Suzuki GSX-1000GT will be replacing the GSX-S1000F that is positioned above the Suzuki GSX-S1000. The sports tourer also gets optional panniers to safely haul luggage and help munch kilometres on the highway.

2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Design Highlights

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT comes with a futuristic fairing design with a sharp front nose. The bike features a unique position light and twin-projector headlamps. The front fairing also comes with a tall windscreen that helps protect the rider from wind and weather. The GSX-S1000GT features chiselled side fairings and a muscular fuel tank. The motorcycle also gets upright handlebars, comfortable split seats, a large pillion seat with grab rails etc.

2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Engine Specifications

Powering the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is a 999cc four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine comes with fuel injection and Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies. The motor comes with a Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM)–plated cylinders. The engine also features 10-hole fuel injectors on each throttle body and automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC). The motorcycle also features new stainless steel, 4-2-1 exhaust system. The engine produces around 152 Bhp of power and pairs with a 6-speed gearbox.

2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Electronics Package

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT comes with Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Traction Control (TC), and Bi-directional Quick Shift system (QS). The bike also comes with Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve that manages the flow from the mid-chamber into the muffler. The touring bike also comes with a TFT LCD instruments display integrated with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) and Cruise Control button. The bike also comes with Computer Area Network (CAN)-style wire harness as an interconnected information network and a new 32-bit ECM.

Competition Check

The new Suzuki GSX-S1000GT will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and the Ducati Supersport 950S. The brand has not yet announced the prices on the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT in the US. But in the European markets, the bike will come with a sticker price of around GBP 11,600 MSRP.
