Skoda Kushaq & Salvia variants get 10” touchscreen

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Skoda has updated its Kushaq and Slavia range with a new feature. The Czech carmaker has reintroduced the 10-inch touchscreen system on its sedan and SUV range. Back in May 2022, the carmaker had swapped this larger unit with an 8-inch unit citing semiconductor shortage. That said, the 10-inch unit will now be available only in the top-end Style trims of the aforementioned models.

10-inch infotainment on the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia

This new unit is now offered only on the top-end trims. Earlier, Skoda was offering it on the mid-spec Ambition as well. The larger screen looks better and has a few more features. However, it loses out on the rotary volume knob due to the larger screen real estate.

Other features on the larger unit include the latest UI and software as well as a range of Skoda Play apps.

Other updates on the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia

Skoda has also updated the Style variants with powered front seats and footwell illumination features.
Meanwhile, the Kushaq now comes with a 17-inch silver alloy in the Style trim. This one replaces the dual-tone design which was previously being offered.

Skoda Slavia Festive offer

Skoda has also slashed the prices of the entry level variant of the Slavia for the upcoming festive season. The base model of the aforementioned model starts at INR 10.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The Skoda Slavia Ambition Plus too comes with chrome elements. These include the front grille, lower door edges and the trunk garnish. Skoda is also providing a dashcam and customers can choose a colour from the existing range. Coming to the engine and gearbox, the Slavia Ambition Plus comes with the 1.0-litre TSI along with a choice of manual or automatic transmission.

Skoda’s MQB-A0-IN platform : More Details

Both the Slavia and the Kushaq are based on Skoda’s made for India MQB-A0-IN platform. This comes under the India 1.0 project of Skoda-Volkswagen. Thanks to this, Skoda has had its largest year in 2022.

Both these aforementioned cars are 5-star rated by GNCAP for adults as well as children. With this, Skoda’s entire line-up consists of 5-star rated models including the Kodiaq, Kushaq and Slavia.
