Renault has officially announced that the all-new Captur SUV will be launched in India later this year. Slotting above the Duster, the Captur will be positioned as a premoum SUV with Crossover DNA. Renault also has crossed the 300 dealership milestone in India, and is now gearing up to introduce the new product.
India’s SUV segment is growing at a fast pace. With more and more customers opting for premium SUVs over sedans, the French brand wants to gain more market share with the help of the Captur.
The Captur is already sold in markets abroad, and will mostly be a 5-seater SUV for the Indian market. Having sold over a million units of the Captur worldwide, Renault is hoping that this new SUV will bring them incremental sales in our market.
Renault has also confirmed that there will be customisation options available for the Captur.
Renault wants to be one of the top 5 car brands in India by 2020.
Powering the Renault Captur will be the same engine as the Duster which includes the 1.5L motor in two states of tune; 85 PS & 110 PS.
