Old Mahindra Scorpio will stay on sale as ‘Scorpio Classic’

Mahindra looks all prepared to sell the much-awaited all-new Scorpio. We now have an official confirmation about the name that will read as ‘Scorpio-N’. The interesting catch here is that Mahindra will continue to sell the current generation Scorpio as the ‘Scorpio Classic’. The SUV is almost two decades old and has grown as an iconic trademark for Mahindra and Mahindra. Hence, it makes sense for Mahindra to continue selling it. The all-new Scorpio-N will arrive in the flesh on the 27th of June 2022 for the very first time.

Scorpio Classic – The OG Is Here To Stay

The sight of a long line of Scorpios in a Bollywood movie is not at all a surprise. In fact, Scorpio has also made itself a name in this domain. The robust outlook and bulky stance make it look like a macho big car. Thus politicians, heroes and villains in movies prefer it alike. Now with the much bigger option with the same name, who will buy the Scorpio Classic?

To answer this, we must first understand the price range where Scorpio N will find its place. Given the high-end tech and a long list of features, we expect the Scorpio-N to breach the 20 lakh figure. And hence there’s enough room in the 10 to 20 lakh bracket to continue to sell the current generation.

Moreover, SUVs’ sales figure is also rising, and the demand is running high. It is better for Scorpio Classic to eat up some of the market shares of the Scorpio-N rather than some other manufacturer doing so. And if someone wants an even more premium offering, they can start looking at the XUV700. Thus, Mahindra will now have an SUV option for all the popular price ranges in India.

Scorpio-N – The Big Daddy Of SUVs

The reception and excitement around the launch of the new Scorpio N are pretty high. Now that we have official photographs, the SUV looks quite scintillating, at least in the photos. Scorpio-N has the potential to turn the company’s fortune, as has happened with the launch of Thar and XUV700.
