Ola’s latest entry level scooter was launched on 15 August 2023. Now, the company has revealed details of the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter. The Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 will be available at a price of INR 1.48 lakh, ex-showroom Bangalore.
Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 : More Details
The 2nd-gen S1 Pro shared the same Gen 2 platform as the S1 X and S1 Air. The scooter now gets incremental upgrades as compared to the previous gen model.
The new scooter now comes with an updated motor. This is rated at 5 kW continuous and 11 kW peak performance. The outgoing model was 5.5 kW / 8.5 kW respectively. Thanks to this change, the top speed is now 120 km/h and the 0-40 km/h time is reduced from 2.9 seconds to 2.6 seconds.
Ola has claimed to make changes to the battery pack as well as the scooter’s efficiency. Hence despite using the same 4 kWh battery pack, the 2nd-gen S1 Pro now has a certified range of 195 km. This is an increase from the earlier 181 km. Ola says its true range in Eco mode is now 180 km, an increase of 10 km.
Other changes in the 2nd-gen S1 Pro
Thanks to the updated platform, the S1 Pro now gets a conventional front fork set-up. The single-sided suspension has been replaced. The new frame has also eliminated the hump in the floorboard. Now, the feet resting area is flat.
Due to all this, there has been a weight reduction from 121 kg to 116 kg. Also the boot space is now slightly reduced from 36 to 34 litres.
Delivery timeline of the 2nd-gen Ola S1 Pro
The second-gen S1 Pro’s price has received a modest hike of INR 8,000. Ola is planning to commence deliveries from mid September 2023. In terms of pricing, the S1 X is available from INR 89,999 for the 2 kWh variant and INR 99,999 for the larger 3 kWh option. The S1 X+ will retail at INR 1,09,999.
