Norton V4CR Cafe Racer revealed, based on V4SV superbike

TVS Motor Company-backed British motorcycle manufacturer Norton Motorcycles have unveiled the new V4CR Cafe Racer prototype. Norton has revealed that the new V4CR Cafe Racer will be the naked Cafe Racer derivative of the V4SV superbike. The new Norton V4CR prototype is the first model to be designed, engineered and produced at the newly opened global headquarters in the UK. 

Norton V4CR Cafe Racer – Design Highlights

The Norton V4CR features a stripped-back appearance that showcases the brand’s craftsmanship prowess. The V4CR comes with a compact framework along with a shorter subframe providing an aggressive and commanding stance. The brand offers the Cafe Racer with a carbon fibre fuel tank and body panels. The company also boasts to offer uncompromising quality on the motorcycle similar to that of the most powerful British cafe racers. The V4CR also comes with a polished billet aluminium frame and swingarm, enhancing the premium bike’s look. 

Norton V4CR Cafe Racer – Technical Specifications

Norton revealed that the V4CR would underpin Norton’s refined V4 platform. A team of 30 engineers at Norton have revised the platform over the last 16 months. The company has also put the V4 platform under test for tens of thousands of road and track miles. The brand reveals that the V4CR will use the same engineering DNA as the 1200cc V4 engine from the V4SV. The engine is capable of producing 185 Hp of power and 125 Nm of torque. The V4CR is also likely to share the running gear from the V4SV. The V4SV comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins NIX30 front fork suspension and an Ohlins TTXGP rear monoshock. 

Norton V4CR Cafe Racer – Features

While Norton has not revealed the details of the V4CR, the brand is likely to equip the Cafe Racer with all-LED lighting, riding modes, a full-colour 6-inch display with an integrated rearview camera. The features are also likely to be shared from the V4SV, which comes with a keyless ignition system and electronic steering lock.
