MG Motor India recently released its retail sales report for January 2023. The sales figure stood at 4,114 units. The carmaker mentioned that there’s some improvement in the supply chain. And hence the production is regaining momentum. However, MG mentioned that some select variants of the manufacturer still remain impacted.
MG has reiterated its stand in developing a strong EV ecosystem in India. In order to achieve that, the company has tied up with various industry partnerships and other interventions. The manufacturer also recently showcased its new energy vehicles (NEVs) with fuel-cell technology at the Auto Expo. This along with pure-electric and plug-in hybrid tech forms a part of MG’s Drive.Ahead vision for future mobility.

Trims And Price Range
MG Motors recently updated its popular Hector SUV. Launched in January 2023 customers can have the Hector in a total of 5 variants with 5, 6, and 7-seater configs, available in both petrol and diesel engine options. New-gen Hector 5-seater’s price fell in the bracket of INR 14.72 lakh to INR 21.72 lakh. Meanwhile, the 6-seater price ranges in the bracket of INR 20.14 lakh to INR 22.42 lakh. Lastly, the 7-seater Hector Plus retails in the price bracket of INR 19.75 lakh to INR 22.42 lakh. All prices mentioned above are in the ex-showroom.
Features On Offer
In terms of features, Hector 2023 ranks up pretty well. It gets a dual-tone cabin, an HD portrait infotainment system, a digital Bluetooth key, and i-SMART tech with connected car features. The SUV also benefits from a slew of enhanced safety equipment. This includes traffic jam assist and 11 ADAS features.
Engine Options
Next-gen Hector does not get any changes mechanically. It continues with the same 1.5-litre turbo, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 140 HP power and 250 Nm torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual with mild hybrid technology and CVT. There’s also a 2.0-litre diesel engine that belts out 168 HP power and 350 Nm torque and a 6-speed manual gearbox. MG offers a slew of customer-centric programmes. One such offer is the MG SHIELD, which includes a 5-year warranty/unlimited kms, 5-year roadside assistance, and 5 labour-free services.
