Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition SUV launched in India at INR 4 Crore

Mercedes-Benz has launched a limited edition of the AMG G63 SUV in India. The AMG G63 Grand Edition in India is priced at INR 4 crore, ex-showroom and the deliveries are scheduled from the first quarter of 2024.

What’s new in the Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition?

This limited edition comes with a few cosmetic updates. These include an all-black exterior with highlights in Kalahari Gold Magno. Mercedes has also specced this Limited Edition with matching highlights with bumpers and on the rear spare wheel cover as well. The Limited Edition AMG G63 rides on 22-inch forged AMG alloys in Tech Gold and gets complementary red brake callipers.

On the inside, the German carmaker has opted for an all-black theme with similar gold highlights as on the outside. The seats are covered in black Nappa leather with gold stitching. There are carbon fibre grab handles, a 3-speed multifunction AMG performance steering wheel and illuminated AMG logos on the door trims.

Powertrain of the Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition

This Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition continues to be powered by the 4.0-litre V8 engine. The stats on this read as 578 BHP and 850 Nm of peak torque. According to the carmaker, this is sufficient to propel the heavy SUV from nought to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is 220 km/h.

Mercedes-Benz India’s 2023 strategic roadmap

The carmaker has also revealed the brand strategy for 2023. Mercedes wants to be the most desirable car brand by offering an enhanced luxury experience to its customers.

Further, the German carmaker reported lower wait times compared to the previous year. The waiting period for these aforementioned high-end cars is said to significantly reduce by up to 6-10 months, depending on the model.

For example, the waiting period for the AMG G63 is now reduced to 12-16 months from earlier 24-36 months. Likewise, the waiting period for the GLS Maybach 600 is now reduced to 8 months for the single colour and 8-10 months for the dual-tone colour.
