Maruti Suzuki reveals Futuro-E Concept at Auto Expo 2020

Today the Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2020 in Delhi begins with the global premiere of the Maruti Suzuki Futuro-E under the brand’s ‘Mission Green Million’ theme, which is its commitment towards clean, green, eco-friendly mobility solutions.

The Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e is a futuristic electric concept car, conceptualised and developed by the team at Maruti Suzuki. The Futuro-e is a coupe-styled SUV concept car with bold geometric lines and an overall SUV silhouette. The Futuro-e has a unique front fascia with its lightbar styled headlights emerging from the ‘S’ Suzuki badge. The front bumper has a layered design that incorporates a fin on it. The bonnet on the Futuro-e is raised giving it a wide masculine face. When viewed from the profile the Futuro-e Concept gets massive wheel arches in gloss black and has linear patterns etched into it. The Futuro-e comes with a sloping roofline that merges with the rear, giving it the typical sporty coupe look. Coming to the rear the Futuro-e completes the sporty SUV look with a large light bar that essentially wraps the entire rear end of the Concept car even extending into its bodywork.

On the interiors, the Futuro-e Concept is designed with a blue and ivory theme and has flowing design running all through its interiors. The Concept car has a futuristic steering wheel with a dashboard infused infotainment and screens on its door pads. The Futuro-e Concept comes with dark blue upholstered swivel travel seats and the central tunnel has a translucent touch control panel which also works as a gear selector. The Futuro-e makes use of HMI (Human Machine Interface) and layered secondary screen that give all the relevant information at a single touch.

While Maruti Suzuki claims that the production-spec version of the Concept coupe SUV is future-ready with and can come with a variety of Hybrid and Pure Electric powertrains, it is also being speculated that the brand is likely to get the Futuro-e derivative with petrol as well as diesel engine options.
