Hyosung GT250R & Aquila Pro with ABS launched in India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Ever since DSK Motowheels brought in the Italian brand Benelli to India, their first venture in the two-wheeler space, Hyosung has been neglected quite a bit. However, the Korean brand now comes with two of its products coupled with ABS for our market. Hyosung is now offering the GT250R sportsbike and the Aquila Pro cruiser with ABS.

Hyosung is finally in the news after a very long time.

Dealers still haven’t revealed the prices, but a marginal increase is expected considering the input costs of equipping the bikes with ABS. Apart from this safety feature, there is no other mechanical change on both the bikes.

Powering the Hyosung GT250R is a 249cc, 4-stroke, DOHC, 8-valve, V-Twin, liquid-cooled motor producing 28 BHP of power @ 10000 RPM and 22.07 Nm of torque @ 8000 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox.

Powering the Aquila Pro is a 647cc, 4-stroke, DOHC, 8-valve, liquid-cooled, V-Twin petrol motor producing 74 BHP of power @ 9000 RPM & 62.1 Nm of torque @ 7500 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox.

Hyosung bikes have become a rare sight on the streets. Not because the brand isn’t pushing the sales enough, but even the bikes are now outdated by segment standards. If there is no major shift in their products on sale in the near future, one shouldn’t be surprised if this Korean brand is no longer on sale in our market.

All motorcycles have a deadline of April 2019 to equip their products above 125cc with ABS.
