Honda has a product onslaught for the next 3 years, and plans to launch multiple models across segments. Considering the craze in our market for SUVs & crossovers, the Japanese brand has now decided to bring the Honda HR-V to our market.

The HR-V is a crossover which was revealed at the 2013 Tokyo motor show. Although it is not really a new product, it is still pretty interesting for our market. When launched, it will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta & the upcoming Nissan Kicks & Renault Captur.

When launched, the HR-V is expected to borrow the engines from City sedan. Both petrol and diesel engines will be on offer along with an automatic gearbox option as well. Pricing for the HR-V could range between INR 10 – 15 lakh, going by the segment standard.

The HR-V will be a 5-seater crossover. What remains to be seen is if the 7-seater BR-V will continue once the HR-V is in the showrooms. The BR-V & Mobilio haven’t really set the sales charts on fire.
