Hero MotoCorp XPulse 200 adventure motorcycle at Auto Expo 2018

We all know the Impulse from Hero MotoCorp. For good and not so good reasons. But ever since it was discontinued, many have shown interest in such a product proposition. And finally, it is Hero MotoCorp again who is willing to make a bold step in introducing an affordable adventure motorcycle. Meet XPulse 200.

While what you see here is more production-ready like than the concept seen at EICMA show in Milan last year, the XPulse 200 will be officially launched in the fiscal year 2018-19. This motorcycle is expected to sport a price tag under INR 2 lakh, and will really spice things up in the segment. Also, the XPulse 200 will come with many segment-first features.

Focusing on the premium motorcycle segment, the dual-purpose XPulse 200 is targeted at young as well as older riders who wish to explore more.

Powering the Hero XPulse 200 will be a 200cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor producing 18.4 PS of power and 17.1 Nm of torque.  While performance figures are noticeably higher than the relatable Impulse, they still don’t shout out to be exciting.

In terms of features, the XPulse 200 will get navigation assistance via smartphone integration, LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, windscreen, luggage rack, knuckle guards & switchable ABS. The bike is built around a high tensile steel diamond frame and sports a 21″ front wheel, 18″ rear wheel, dual purpose tyres, 220mm ground clearance, rear monoshock with 10 adjustment levels, telescopic front fork & and up-swept exhaust for better water wading.

So, are you waiting for the Hero MotoCorp XPulse 200? Would you be interested in an affordable adventure tourer?
