BMW Motorrad has recalled the R nineT motorcycle in global markets. The bikes manufactured between 2014 – 2017 are subject to this recall and have a problem with the rear swingarm.

The recall reveals that a total of 3,368 motorcycles have been affected because of this fault. The problem is, the swingarm pivot pin bolt might get loose which might  negatively affect the handling of the motorcycle and can also prove to be fatal. The issue is due to improper manufacturing of the bolt, which has eventually resulted in improper fitting.

Dealers have started reaching out to customers of the R nineT. The pivot bolts would be inspected & replaced free of charge. Customers can take their bikes to the nearest dealership worldwide after 9th of October 2017. BMW has yet to issue a notice to customers in India about this.
