Bajaj Pulsar 220F returns to Indian showrooms

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

As per sources, we understand Bajaj Pulsar 220F is set to make a comeback to the Indian market very soon. We understand deliveries are all set to begin in the next week or two.

Price And Delivery Details

As of now, prices haven’t been officially announced yet. But, as per sources, we learned that the Pulsar 220F will retail at the INR 1.35 lakh mark (ex-showroom). This price tag is not very costly to its price when it was taken off the shelves of the Bajaj website last year. But noteworthy to mention, this will place the Pulsar 220F slightly below its Pulsar stablemates, the NS200 and N250.

Why Was The Pulsar 220F Discontinued?

The reason why Bajaj pulled the plug on the Pulsar 220F was the introduction of the new-gen Pulsars in the form of the N250 and F250. These were essentially the spiritual successors of the 220F. During that time, the 220F was already enjoying healthy demand in certain markets of the country. But whatever the case, the cult fan following of 220F remains to date. And hence, Bajaj has decided to reintroduce the Pulsar 220F. Thus, the motorcycle will arrive at stores across the country. As of now, the majority of the dealers who are receiving the latest units of the motorcycle are from South India.

Do We See Any Change In The New Introduced 220F?

As for upgrades, Bajaj has not done much to the 220F. The motorcycle was already BS6 complaint when it was first discontinued.  Thus it means it will continue with the air-/oil-cooled 220cc fuel-injected motor. The performance rating of this motor reads as 20.9 HP of power at 8,500rpm and 18.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. But as per the upcoming BS6 2.0 emission norms, it will need to equip an OBD2 onboard diagnostic technology. As evident from the photos, the colours and graphics schemes on the motorcycles reaching the dealers at the moment are also very similar to those available on the model when it was earlier on sale.
