Arriving for homologation at ARAI, seems like the smaller Aprilia SR scooter is inching closer to a market debut. Expected to be called the Aprilia SR 125, this scooter is cosmetically identical, but will only sport a different engine.

Aprilia’s SR 150 scooter is doing fairly well in the sales department thanks to its sporty nature. A cheaper & more economical variant will only help bring more numbers.

Engine would be sourced from the Piaggio Vespa sibling, and would be a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit producing around 9.6 PS of power and 8.2 Nm of torque.

You could expect a price tag roughly about Rs. 8,000 – 10,000 cheaper than the SR 150.

All other features such as sporty decals, headlamps on the front apron, alloy wheels, dual-tone seats could remain unchanged.
