2020 Hyundai Verna details revealed officially, 7-speed DCT confirmed

Hyundai has officially revealed details of the new 2020 Verna sedan. This is a facelift version of the Verna, and it is all set to arrive in our market by mid-2020. The Hyundai Verna will continue to rival the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. Important point to note, Hyundai will continue with both petrol and diesel engine options moving ahead to BS6 emission norms.

Hyundai has now officially released teaser images of the 2020 Verna sedan which give us a fair understanding of what to expect. At the front, the car will now get a large single-piece chrome studded grille with the Hyundai logo and number plate housing within. This will surely allow for a more imposing appearance to the sedan. The headlamps look like LED units with LED DRLs, but the turn indicator will be a standard bulb. One can also notice projector style fog lamps on the new Verna. The bonnet and bumper also have been revised. Moving to the side profile, the Verna sedan will get chrome accents on the window sills and door handles, along with dual tone diamond cut alloy wheels. At the back, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will get new LED tail lamps along with new bumper profile with chrome accents and reflectors.

Hyundai has confirmed that the 2020 Verna will come with a 1.0L, turbocharged GDi petrol engine which will be matched to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Hyundai claims that the new Verna will remain the most powerful sedan in the segment. Apart from this, the brand will also have a 6-speed automatic gearbox on other engine options. A CVT gearbox option will also be on offer. Power and torque figures are currently unknown, but expect the same as we have seen for the upcoming Hyundai Creta.

The Hyundai Verna launch is expected to follow soon after the all-new Creta makes a debut. Prices could move up by a small margin keeping in mind the BS6 emission norms and the hardware that has been added.
