Worldwide, starting from the KTM Duke 125, till the Duke 390, all motorcycles have moved to a new design language including the Duke 250. However, the first KTM which made it to India, the Duke 200, is still running in its oldest form and has now seen any major change over these years. But now, things are about to change. It is being said that the new model will be launched in 2019, and it will feature a similar design to the elder siblings.

The 2019 KTM Duke 200 is expected to get the same sharp body panels like the Duke 250 & Duke 390. The headlamp though although rumoured to be a halogen setup with LED DRLs, we are expected full LEDs as rivals Yamaha FZ 25 come with this latest feature. Also, the new Duke 200 will dump the underbelly exhaust to a full size unit like seen on the Duke 250 & Duke 390.

It’s unknown for now if the chassis will be changed or not, but most likely – that will happen. Engine is expected to remain the same which is a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 24.6 BHP of power and 19.2 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.

Another welcome addition next year would be ABS. With the government norms demanding it, it is more than obvious that the new Duke 200 will come with this safety feature, but this will surely bump up the pricing. So, would you wait for the new KTM Duke 200? Or get what’s on sale as of now, as is?
