Adventure Tourer motorcycles in the quarter-litre segment are surely gaining popularity, and even brands are considering this niche segment seriously with something in development. While we already know that BMW Motorrad will bring the G 310 GS & KTM will bring the Adventure 390 to Indian markets, latest rumours suggest that even DSK Benelli has something up their sleeve.
It is being said that that a new entry-level adventure motorcycle is currently being worked upon by Benelli. The project is still in early stages of development, and this bike would be a smaller sibling to the TRK 502. So possibly, Benelli could name this motorcycle the TRK 302.
Expect a production ready prototype to be showcased at one of the upcoming motorcycle shows on international soil.
Powering the bike would be the same 300cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor from the TNT 300, but this bike would get the motor tweaked for more torque helping it tackle rough terrain with ease. Other cycle parts such as chassis, sub-frame, suspension, instrument console, body panels would be all-new.
In the immediate future, it is the bigger sibling TRK 502 which is getting ready for a market debut. Pricing for this would be cheaper than the Kawasaki Versys 650. In other news, Benelli has cancelled the plans of launching the TNT 135 in India, as the brand does not see enough potential in the monkey bike segment.
