Yokohama will begin production of tyres in India from their first manufacturing unit in November, 2014. The company has invested around Rs. 300 crore on this new facility in Haryana and will have an annual production capacity of 7.2 lakh units.

This facility will roll out two sub-brands of Yokohama tyres. The Earth 1 tyres for better comfort and the S Drive for better performance. The Earth 1 tyres will be available in 13″, 14″ and 15″ sizes while the S Drive will be available in 14″ and 15″ sizes.

The plant currently used a compact manufacturing process, but the facility can be expanded easily on a later stage based on the market demand.
