Yokohama India has commenced local manufacturing of tyres in India at their facility in Haryana. This new facility has a daily production capacity of 2,000 tyres and is located at HSIIDC, Bahadurganj. If demand increases, this production capacity can be increased three to four times in the next phase.
Yokohama commenced operations in India in 2007 and decided to setup a local manufacturing unit to increase profitability be saving on taxes and duties.
Yokohama manufactures the Earth-1 and S Drive range of tyres here in India. The Earth 1 tyres will be available in 13″, 14″ and 15″ sizes while the S Drive will be available in 14″ and 15″ sizes.
Yokohama competes only in the tubeless tyre market in India and has 600 sales touch points in India including 23 Yokohama Club Network (YCN).
